  1. Hi there! My name is Sheila Sun, and I am from Grand Ledge, Michigan. I have always had an interest in biology and love to explore things on a deeper level. Spring semester, I decided to take a couple of my classes online initially to see what it was like. This was probably a good choice because it did help me with the transition when the rest of my classes were also put online.

  2. Hi everybody,
My name is Joshua Aylward, and I live in Dewitt.
Biology interests me because the wide variety of living things on this planet and all of the unique abilities of these living things simply amazes me.
The things that helped me most with online classes were organization of what I had to do, organization of what I was learning, and having classmates to help me learn and make sure that I didn’t miss anything.

  3. Hello,
It’s exciting to get back to learning, even if it’s though a screen now. My name is Alana Craig, living currently in Okemos. Biology used to interest me, as I was always looking for ways to learn more about our world surrounding us. However in the recent years the interest fell out into more of a side quest in my life, I hope this class reignites the wonder I always had for the subject and opens new doors into the future. I am fairly familiar with online classes, even if they are not my preferred way of learning. I found that I had to curb my habits of procrastination by enforcing times in which I would study and complete assignments. By creating a schedule for work it makes everything 100x less stressful in the long run.

  4. Hi everyone,
My name is Elizabeth Corey and I am from St. Johns.
All of the intricate details behind the many living things we see or know about, that sometimes seem so simple, is what most interests me about biology.
What has helped me in my online learning experience is to be organized, use a planner, have good communication with my professor, and use the resources that a class offers.

  5. Hello everyone,
My name is Anh Pham and I’m originally from Vietnam and currently live in Lansing, Michigan for a little more than 6 years now. Learn how things function inside of living organisms is what interest me in biology but I want to go deeper into it. I haven’t experience online learning before but hopefully this will train me to not procrastinate too much, know how to manage time for each of the classes, and pay attention to details as well as due dates.

  6. Hello, my name is Gladys Kamdem. I am from Cameroon and I live in Holt MI. I am most interested in biology because of its relationship with chemistry. But also because its the study of life, and who doesn’t want to learn about that! I have done a couple of online classes last fall and spring. Although I am happy to be familiar with the transition. I do miss the in person courses.

  7. Good evening, My name is CaPrese Sinclair. I am originally from Lansing, Michigan but just relocated back from Las Vegas after over a decade. What interests me about biology is the developmental stages. It could range from fetal to adolescent/young adult/ to adult development. What I have found is the most instrumental for myself is having someone else to study with even if the course is online. Sometimes I believe that having someone to bounce ideas off of can be more helpful than being solo. It is also a second layer of accountability to ensure that you are completing your assignments on time.

    1. I find developmental Biology of interest as well and we will have time to discuss it in class toward the end of the Semester.

  8. Hello everyone,
My name is Natalie, I am from Lansing. I have always loved biology! I find it interesting how the world and its inhabitants work so seamlessly, beginning with the cellular level. I don’t usually take online classes, but considering the current situation I have had to adjust. I have found that writing notes on paper helps a lot!

  10. Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Owens. I am interested in bio because I grew up learning about it, even as a toddler my dad would talk to me about cells, people and animals and how everything is connected. The online tutoring site helped me so much my first semester at LCC, it was always available and the tutor was always understanding and helpful.

  11. Hi! My name is Mitch Lamrouex and I’m from Lansing. I have always had a passion for living things, specifically animals, and love learning about all the diverse ways that life exists on this planet. 13. Hey everyone,
my name is Chase Williamson, I’m from Lansing. I recently graduated from Grand Valley and biology really interest me in how advance the field is, the amount of research and findings in the field of biology is crazy. It’s the reason why the medical field is so advance today! A thing that has really helped me be successful in my online classes is doing assignments early rather than last minute, when you do assignments early you have time to reach out to the professor with any questions before submitting.

  14. Hello everyone,
My name is Tung Hoang (Tyler). I’m from Vietnam. I have been in Lansing for 2 years. I love to see what happened in living organism: how they can survive, how they produce,…It is better for me to study face to face. However, I hope I can enjoy the online class. We will have a great semester.

  16. Hello my name is Anna Breithaupt and I am from Lansing. I have always been interested in biology but pursued a different route for the past decade. I am now transitioning careers and would like to become educated in Animal Science to become an animal behaviorist. Biology is an important component of Animal Science. I have taken many online courses throughout the years so I am familiar with the demands of being a self-directed learner. Excited to learn this semester!

  17. Hello my name is Aaron Heslip and I am from Perry, Mi. I find biology interesting because of the way everything builds off one another within an organism. I also find it interesting because I am studying mechanical engineering and I find machines fascinating, and, in a way, organisms are just biological machines. I’ve taken many online courses, some in high school and some in college. What has helped the most is the ability to be self paced and self taught, although sometimes I do need reminders for due dates because of that self pacing.

  18. Hello all, my name is Boyoung Kim. I am from Ann Arbor, MI and I am most interested in the microbial biology aspect of medicine. Through the online course, it helped me a lot to organize my work and prioritize my to-do list every week!
