  1. Worksheets. Worksheets are not graded. They are just for practice. Keys will be posted by the end of the week.

  2. I’m not sure if questions regarding the quiz are allowed here. If they’re not, please just let me know.

I am on question 5 and am at a loss. I’ve made a table of all possible genotype crosses, and my resulting answer for probability is just a bit shy of one of the answers. Of 32 possible combinations, none of the five answers accurately represents the real probability.

    1. Oops sorry, There was an error in the answers. In the future, make sure you say what quiz it is. Not everybody is on the same quiz.

  3. Many students were having problems with the meiosis ordering problem from problem quiz 5. I suggest that you (1) Diagram the written descriptions and (2) Determine whether they occur in interphase, Meiosis 1 or Meiosis 2 and prophase, metaphase, anaphase or telophase of M1 or M2.
Other hints by students who got this question correct would be appreciated .

  4. what exactly are “chromosome sisters” ? In all of the practice problems and review activities, we used “homologues” or “sister chromatids” to differentiate. In this question, every answer (except the one referring to interphase) says chromosomes. This leads me to believe that it is referring to homologous chromosomes. I feel pretty confident in my ability to determine what stage everything is in based on a diagram but I’m having a hard time drawing the diagrams when I don’t understand the way they are described. Drawing diagrams is only helpful if I can be confident that the diagrams are correct.

  5. The question said “X chromosome sisters” This is just to say that the sisters (which are sister chromatids happen to be from the X chromosome. That is, “X chromosome” is an adjective modifying “sisters”. Sorry for the confusion.
